Introducing Your Hosts
Margaret and Andrew Dewing are the new owners of Forest Lodge. We moved here from Tauranga for the idyllic country lifestyle that Owhango offers. The small rural community has been helpful and supportive in our adventure and it is a pleasure to be part of this very friendly and caring community.
We have refurbished the lodge making it more comfortable, an ongoing project, and we are looking forward to hosting all those skiers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, family groups, or anyone who wishes to share our wonderful piece of paradise.
You will often see us out and about on the back roads and cycle trails on our e-bikes, with our little dog Beaudie along for the ride.
Andrew is a keen volunteer for Owhango Alive, checking traps to enhance our stunning birdlife, recently a kiwi woke us up at 4am calling by the house. Cheeky thing had been getting worms from our compost pile. And new hatchings of native Whio have been the reward for many hours work.
